FLAMENCO COURSE
About the course
In this 10-week course, you'll get to know the basic principles of flamenco, focusing on the most popular flamenco styles like Soleá, Tangos and Bulerías.
You'll learn essential techniques such as pulgár, rasgueado and picado, and discover how to apply these to simple melodies (falsetas). We start by understanding the compás (rythm) and gradually introduce new techniques. This way, you'll give your falsetas more depth and dynamics. By working on both technique and musical structure, you'll improve your playing and develop a deeper understanding of flamenco.

This course is suitable for both beginners and advanced guitarists who want to deepen their playing and expand their repertoire with this expressive and powerful style. Suitable for students of 16+. Up to two persons per class.
About the teacher
Feikje Boertjens has been playing flamenco guitar for over 20 years, studying at Fundación Cristina Heeren in Seville and Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam under the guidance of maestro Paco Peña. She regularly performs with her bands Zarzamora and Las Rumberas, and creates her own music under the name Feikita.

In this 5-week course, you'll explore the energetic Rumba Gitana, a lively and rhythmic style that blends Cuban origins with flamenco, popularized in the 1950s by icons like Manitas de Plata and The Gypsy Kings.
You'll learm the basics of Rumba Gitana by mastering strumming techniques, rhythms patterns and catchy themes. We'll focus on right-hand techniques, scales, and chords, enabling you to play melodies, improvise and accompany singing. Step by step, you'll capture the dynamic groove of this style and quickly play like a true rumbero/a!
