Unanimous Finca La Maricana

Bodegas Trespiedras came our way via a befriended chef, he was a big fan already and suggested us to have a look. The next day we were kindly welcomed by one of the two brothers of Bodegas Trespiedras, he showed us everything, the vineyards, the old caves, the shed where they produce the wine. These two brothers used to sell all of their grape production to big cooperations, now the best 10% is saved for own production, and it is amazing. For all the Unanimous wines they work with single vineyards, the majority in these vineyards is Tempranillo but you can also find some plants of Grenache and Albillo Mayor (white grape). La Maricana is fruity, powerful and ripe. Fun fact about La Maricana is the wax that’s used to close the bottle, this is beewax from the beehives surrounding Finca La Maricana (yes you can smell the honey).
