Wine Course

SDEN stands for Stichting Dranken en Normering and is the institute for official wine diplomas. The classes are taught by wine expert (vinoloog) Marte Luursema in the tasting room of Bodegón located at Stationsweg 36 in The Hague. We will introduce you to the main wine regions, help you discover key grape varieties, and delve deeper into the process from vine to wine. But most importantly, we'll do a lot of tasting, train your taste buds, and let you explore more wines.

Description

SDEN 1

SDEN 1 (€125 p.p) is provided in both English and Dutch

The SDEN1 wine course is for beginners. In 2 evenings, we will teach you step by step how to taste wine and cover the basic steps of wine making. We will discuss several grape varieties and provide tips for buying wine yourself.

SDEN 2

SDEN 2 (€320 p.p) is provided in both English and Dutch

The SDEN 2 wine course is a beginner level, it is suitable for anyone with an interest in wine. Level 1 is not required for starting. In this 5-evening course, we will cover more wine regions, wine styles, and grape varieties. Over the course of the 5 evenings, we will focus heavily on tasting, sampling a minimum of 8 wines per evening to prepare thoroughly for the exam. We will discuss regulations, have a wine and food pairing evening, and dedicate significant time to the wine-making process.

SDEN 3

SDEN 3 is provided in Dutch only

The SDEN 3 wine course is an advanced level, finishing level 2 is required for starting. In this 8-evening course, we will cover more wine regions, wine styles, and grape varieties. Over the course of the 8 evenings, we will focus heavily on tasting, sampling a minimum of 8 wines per evening to prepare thoroughly for the exam. This course prepares you for the official exam for the ‘wijnbrevet’.
